Where South Florida Nail Techs Buy Supplies: Store, Online or Local Delivery

How South Florida nail techs split supply orders between a local store, an online shop and local delivery, with a par-level system and what to buy where.

By The Studio teamUpdated October 23, 20265 min read
The short answer

Most nail techs mix three routes: a local supply store for urgent restocks, new colors and tools they want to hold; an online shop for planned, repeat orders; and phone-ordered local delivery when they can't leave the table. The Studio has four South Florida stores, ships online, and takes calls or texts at (754) 232-4200 for local delivery.

The three ways techs restock

There is no single right place. Running out mid-day is easier to avoid when each route has a job: the store for what you need now, the website for what you can plan, and the phone for everything in between.

RouteBest forWeak spot
Local storeUrgent restocks, seeing colors in the bottle, holding tools, asking questionsYou have to drive, and the store has set hours
Online shopPlanned, repeat orders and large ordersShipping time: in-stock items at The Studio are ready to ship in 1 to 3 business days, by UPS Ground
Local delivery by call or textWhen you can't leave the salon or have a client waitingArranged by phone. Call or text (754) 232-4200

Other sources exist, such as distributors and trade shows. Some techs use those too. This article covers the three routes you can use with The Studio.

Four stores across three counties

The Studio is set up for South Florida. Two stores are in Broward County (Margate and Pembroke Pines), one is in Miami-Dade (Kendall) and one is in Palm Beach County (Boynton Beach). Here are the addresses and hours:

A par-level system so you rarely run out

The best-run salons don't wait until a bottle is empty. They set a par level: the minimum quantity on the shelf before reordering.

  1. List your top 20 items. Base coat, top coat, dehydrator, primer, your most used colors, acrylic liquid and powder, tips, files, buffers, wipes and cleanser.
  2. Set a par for each. One backup bottle for items you use weekly. Two or more for daily items.
  3. Count on a set day. Once a week, before the weekend rush.
  4. Reorder when you hit the par, not when you hit zero. Online for planned items, a store trip for urgent ones.
  5. Keep a "text list" on your phone of what to ask about when you call (754) 232-4200.
Group orders by free shipping. Online orders over $125 ship free within the lower 48 states, so one weekly or biweekly order beats three small ones.

Keep costs down without cutting corners

Price per bottle is only part of the cost. A better measure is cost per service: what you spend on supplies for one set of nails or one pedicure. Track it for your three most common services.

  • Count what each service uses. A fill might use a bit of builder gel, one file, wipes and a drop of oil.
  • Compare sizes by unit. A larger bottle or case lowers the cost per use if you finish it before it ages. Don't buy more than you will use.
  • Watch the sale and promo banner on the website. The Studio runs promotions, but they change, so we don't list them here.
  • Don't cut corners on sanitation, files or anything that touches skin. A cheap disinfectant that doesn't meet the label requirements costs you more than it saves.

Questions to ask any supplier

  1. Is this exact item in stock today?
  2. What is the size or count of the pack?
  3. Can I see or hold the product before I pay?
  4. What is the return policy? (At The Studio: none, all sales are final.)
  5. What are the shipping method and timing? (At The Studio: UPS Ground, ready to ship within 1 to 3 business days for in-stock items.)
  6. Is local delivery available? (At The Studio: call or text (754) 232-4200.)

Ask the same six questions of every supplier. The answers show you which route to use for which order.

Buying for safety, not just price

Some supplies matter more than others for compliance. Florida's salon rule (61G5-20.002) requires EPA-registered or hospital-level disinfectants, used per the manufacturer's directions. For pedicure equipment, the product must be an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant that is bactericidal, fungicidal, virucidal and pseudomonacidal. Always read the label for those claims. See our pedicure tub cleaning guide.

Because The Studio does not accept returns, refunds or exchanges (health and safety), double-check the product, size and count before you pay, and read the label for directions and cure or contact times.

How to order from The Studio

Prefer not to drive? Call or text (754) 232-4200 for local delivery. For anything else about delivery, ask when you call. Online orders over $125 ship free within the lower 48 states by UPS Ground, and in-stock items are ready to ship within 1 to 3 business days. All sales are final because of health and safety concerns, so check shades, sizes and counts before you pay.

  • In person: any of the four stores, during the hours above.
  • Online: thestudiosupply.com. Pay by credit or debit card through Stripe checkout.
  • By phone or text: (754) 232-4200 for local delivery and store questions.
